Custom Portrait Giveaway Winner: Annalise

Hello again everyone!

How are you? Thanks to everyone that took part in my custom portrait giveaway last month.There was a lot of entries, but there could only be one winner and that was Annalise Grech from Pastel Bokeh.

I was really excited to draw a portrait for her and decided to go with a purple colour scheme (because Annalise loves that colour). I also added some roses in the background to create a very feminine illustration.

I hope to host another giveaway soon, so please keep your eyes peeled.

Other news is that I only have one more week until I go to university. I'm so nervous. I'm starting to get cold feet, but I suppose that it's a completely natural feeling. It'll be a really exciting and fun experience, I'm sure. Anyway, I'll keep you updated!

Sometimes you need to relax...

Hello, how are you? I've been so busy lately! I have now finished college (no more exams), but I still find myself rushing around. Luckily I have found some time to rest my feet (like now for instance). So, what have I been up to?

I've managed to get some more hours at work so I can save up a bit more money for September when I leave for university so that has taken up a lot of my time. My feet hurt so much though! I find myself standing for hours behind a till and I don't know what to do to relieve the pain. Can anyone suggest some sensible shoes? Any ideas?

However, I did get to go to the cinema last week to see the new Despicable Me 2. It's a great film! Very funny and the animation was really good. I wish I could have seen it in 3D. Unfortunately, the cinemas in my town are rubbish. Each cinema only has one screen, no 3D capabilities and the prices are extortionate. Anyway, if you get chance to see Despicable Me 2 go and see it. It's a cute, colourful film suitable for all ages.

Passion for Pattern

A few weeks ago I posted about how I'd been taking photographs of farm animals (you can read about it here). I'm still beavering on with my project where I've been creating patterns featuring the animals. I thought I'd share what I've made so far...

 

I have been inspired by 60s patterns and designers such as Orla Kiely and Angie Lewin because I love the colours and shapes that they use. I created these designs using card, pen, pencil, printing and Photoshop! It took me a while to get the patterns to repeat and to be seamless (that's always the hardest part) but now I think it's impossible to tell where the pattern starts and stops.

The first pattern features the highland cattle, and the second one shows the sheep. Which one do you prefer and why?
